The Vari-Tones is one of New York's freshest new ensembles playing Blues, R&B and Surf Rock of the 1950's and 60's. They have developed their own unique approach to playing the hits of James Brown, Bill Doggett, Freddie King and T-Bone Walker among others. The band's signature sound comes from seamlessly blending traditional blues and jazz instrumentation, resulting in a dynamic and fun musical experience.
Featuring Nick Myers on saxophone, Sam Raderman on guitar, Todd Caldwell on organ and Alex Raderman on drums, each member boasts an impressive resume of performances and recordings. Individually, they have played with Crosby Stills & Nash, The Hot Sardines and The Louis Armstrong Eternity Band to name a few. They have performed at venues and festivals worldwide including the Blue Note Jazz Festival (Tokyo), The Serious Festival (London), the Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa Jazz Festivals, Porgy and Bess (Vienna), A-Trane (Berlin), Savannah Music Festival, Jazz At Lincoln Center, Joe's Pub at The Public Theater, Boston Symphony Hall, The Town Hall (NY), South By Southwest, Smalls, Birdland, Smoke and countless others.
